Since she felt entitled to shamelessly blog about my derriere, (here) I felt I was entitled to pilfer her crafty goods;-) What goes around comes around! Really I just wanted to share some of my wonderful daughter's talents and projects she did this year!;-)
A favorite project of hers was this great dresser found in the thrifty ads...
She redid this furniture (sorry, no before picture) for her new daughter's nursery and made this sweet little quilt as part of a darling crib set.

I love how she converted this vintage little desk into a delightful little changing table
This ugly duckling was declined when first offered...
until she envisioned this beauty,
and wonderful game organizer,This chest was being sent to a thrift store after the passing of her grandmother. It was in great condition and had great bones. Natalie once again saw it's potential.
This is my before...

The after for my future craft room chair was inspired from Ashley at Domestic Fashionista project. Then a young friend of hers was diagnosed with breast cancer and she quilted this beautiful quilt for her to take along for her Chemo treatments.
.
"And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left hand, and my spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up."
Her friend said her friends have truly been her angels.
We both decided to both do the Summer Stash challenge last year and make a quilt from the fabrics we already had at home. LOL!!! I didn't have any... I didn't know quite what I was signing up for.
Her quilt turned out so lovely, The colors are so soft and light with a soft pink mink fabric on the bottom. My 6 year old granddaughter sleeps with this each night.
Hers turned out to be is one of my all time favorite quilts.
This is MY quilt from the challenge of only using fabrics I already had....which was next to NOTHING!!!!!
I had to be really creative to make this work. So using an emergency red micro fleece blanket from the trunk of our car and some old jeans, we have a warm cuddly quilt .

She is witty, talented and constantly surprises and inspires me. Since I only had one daughter, I am so glad I got the best! I have received three fabulous DIL who also inspire me:)

Your daughter has a real knack for making things over...and her quilts are splendid too. How cool to be inspired by your own kid! And I love your jeans blanket! My mom made one of these for all of us kids. They are so heavy and durable...we always used them when we went camping because you weren't afraid to get them dirty!
Hi Beth :)
Your daughter is really funny AND talented! It didn't fall far from the tree either ;)
rue
Ooooh. Nice work!!! Loving them all!
Funny blog, too!
Hi Beth,
Your daughter has made and made over some wonderful things! Each project is so GREAT!!! Gosh I sure feel inspired after reading this!!!!!
Hi Beth,
Wow, your daughter sure knows what she's doing when it comes to painting furniture. The makeovers look great. I love the quilts. I remember seeing your quilt on a post. One of these days I'm going to make them. I could have used one last night...burrrr.
Great re-dos! Love your blog and all that you have shared with us. We are LDS too. It is so fun to make new friends through blogging.
she really is talented, clever and quite hilarious (much like her mother). I wish I had half the artistic vision that she has! beautiful :)
Your mom hacked into your blog? That's really funny! AND, she did a great job showing off your work this year. I don't remember seeing most of the furniture make overs, so it was fun to read this post. You were a busy lady last year creatively, and that doesn't even include all the weddings!
I got confused. Sorry about that! It's hard to keep virtual friends names straight. Especially when she hacked into your account, then you posted on all of her ideas. haha. (I set up my mom's blog and have full access to it...snicker...)
BETH, your daughter did some great things.... I'm really impressed with the desk changing table. I've never thought about that use for a desk, but it makes perfect sense.
Beth, I love these makeovers! The colors are so bright and cheery, and I love the chair you did, too! And those quilts! I'm a quilt lover! Thank you for sharing these pretties with us. :-)
XO,
Sheila
Your daughter shares a lot of my same taste! I love the furniture!
I have furniture like that from my days living at home! I guess I need to see if I can have it! You've got me excited now!
Wow~amazing transformations! Thunderous applause coming from Phoenix. Well done.
Looks great! I invite you to drop by my place and see my before and after's.
Hi Beth, I loved all the projects your daughter so cleverly made beautiful and useful. Her quilting is awesome too. I also think she comes by her cleverness honestly. Just look at the fun quilt you made out of your idea to use jeans and fleece. I'm impressed. smiling!
Hugs...Jeanne
Wow, I love all these transformations. They are happy and bight and made me smile. Your daughter is talented.
I loved seeing all of these makeovers--they're fabulous and what pleasure they'll give you and your daughter for years to come!
I live near Greensboro, NC so only a few hours from Richmond. VA tends to get more snow that we do, we will usually either get rain or nasty freezing rain. A snow day is a cause for great celebration here!
Oh my! So beautiful - all of it!
And so sweet that your daughter made the quilt for your friend. That's so sweet and thoughtful - I just love that. :)
I'd love to have any of your quilts - they are my weakness!
What a wonderful way to honor your daughter's talents. She is very creative, as are you. I'd love to learn how to quilt.
Wonderful post!!
Love all the face lift's on the furniture!!!So pretty:)Amazing what some TLC and paint can do!!!
Oh yeah and patience helps too! lol
Smiles,
KayEllen
WOW Amazing transformations! I think your daughter and I would be great friends!! I love all her color choices too! You have a beautiful blog! Thanks so much for stopping by the Childrens Nest! Take care.....
Tiffany
Of course, add me to your list!
xoxo!
That jean quilt is just the cutest! I also love the way that a can of paint and a little elbow greese can really make something into a new treasure!
I seriously don't know how she does it all. But what's up with her going private? I felt so rejected when I tried to log in.
My, I am impressed with all the projects that you and your daughter were able to accomplish in one year! I can't wait to see what you are up to this year. The quilts were inspiring and wow, doesn't paint make a big change on the wood furniture. Especialy the oak-to-black chair. You both get a big gold star from me!
I'm just geting caught up on blog reading and I also have MY Child by David Bowman. His family used to live near us in Saratoga. Small world.
Wow! She's amazingly talented! She truly is blessed with a gift to take something ordinary and make it extraordinary! I'm impressed!
Wow, your daughter is talented. The quilt she made for her friend is really special. I never would have thought to paint a chest of drawers with spray paint, but it sure turned out gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing.
hopefully she will on day share her delightful talents :) ah she has been most blessed with great vision.
I love all of it!!! After this week, I must start spray painting. So, spray paint doesn't drip?
Guess what? Mark may have a job! He had a four hour interview yesterday and today is an all-day vetting, sharing of concepts, discussing marketing philosophies. I PRAY this job comes through (if it is the Lord's will). Will let you know!
Have a great day, Beth!
Blessings,
Elizabeth
Beth, thanks for sharing all these fun projects with us! I really love all the fun colored painted pieces. What a way to update an old piece. Great job & thanks for playing along!
I am racking my brain for a new school in Saratoga and I guess I don't know it. We lived near Portage High on the border of Saratoga and San Jose. I also loved living there. Thanks for your comments on my (fairly new) blog. I have lots to learn. I put your blog on my blog list!
I love a slew of finished projects. Your daughter is just as talented as you!
I am inspired... get out the paint!
Oh how cool! What gorgeous stuff there. Talent is just oozing out all over the place. Also, I think it's fun that you just have one daughter like me. I also feel that she teaches ME so much. We are never to old to learn hip, chic stuff and these cute little young spring chicks are just the ones to learn from :)
I love all the furniture transformations! They're one of my favorites!
You've gotta love a girl with a can of spray paint in her hand. :-) Would you happen to know the color of that blue of the first piece?
Oh how I wish I had the time to do all of those wonderful makeovers... send her my way I have plenty of items that need a little help:0)
Saw you on Domestic Fashionista's blog and wanted to say hi
It's amazing the difference some paint and hard work can do! Your daughter has done some lovely work there! Beautiful
Some lovely projects you and your daughter have managed. I love those blue chairs with the pink cushion seats. Pink looks so good with blue.
Aren't daughter's amazing! They seem to see things beyond the mundane and inspire. :-)
Thank you for the kind comments on my blog. It's fun getting to know you.
You are so busy and talented. You sure got a lot of projects done! I love all of the colors that you used. Everything looks wonderful!
Jen
Beth,
My husband got the job. He is VP Sales and Marketing. It is a straight commission position, which is always a little scary, but he makes a good percentage of ever sale the company makes, so we should make a good living. This economy worries me, so after food and bills, we will SAVE, SAVE, SAVE!! Food Storage, too!!!
God bless your wonderful, busy Sabbath! We have the late block this year. I must admit I enjoy it.
God bless,
Elizabeth
Thanks for the nice comment you have left on my blog. Your daughter was sure busy in 08! You did a great job with everything you did as well! Have a great 2009!!
Wow, she is SO talented! I absolutely love the quilts and all the furniture too!!!
WOW! I LOVE IT ALL! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! What talent the two of you have!
Me, not so much! LOL
