When it rains it pours! and it is raining at our house!!! Yesterday was a day in my life which will not be forgotten. So I must share... This is our new little kitchen downstairs.

I hope the adage, 'things happen in threes' is correct and doesn’t keep going to fours and fives!:-)It all started last Friday when Miss P Mc Call came home from school and yelled for me to come down stairs quickly. There was water dripping quite rapidly from the ceiling can lights in the kitchen downstairs. Then I noticed damp spots forming in different places of the ceiling. It seemed our P- trap had gotten plugged up in the drain leading from our washing machine.
It must of swallowed the sock I lost in the wash last week:)
Well, to make a this long story shorter. The walls were soaked! My husband had to drill holes in the wet ceiling and cut along the fur down going into the family room so the drywall and insulation could dry out. What a mess right before my nieces shower the next day!!!
THEN yesterday my wonderful Maytag dishwasher quit..:) My thought was NO, NOT THIS WEEK! Oh my heart... We have about 25 coming to Thanksgiving dinner!
Today when my hubby left for work this morning, the third car garage door ( which isn’t electric) came down on his truck and damaged the truck and damaged the garage door!
People, this is Thanksgiving and the crunch time for our son’s wedding next week!
So this morning I called the plumber to fix the p-trap. He called back just after I applied tint to my hair!

YIKES!!!! He was only five minutes away.... I only had my p.j. bottoms on with a towel wrapped around my shoulders... So what does any new blogger do? I grab my camera!!! LOL again.
I was also vain enough to hurry and apply some eye makeup and then put Handiwrap around my head so I wouldn’t stain my clothes and I got dressed just as he rang the door bell. Buggers! He was fast!
This is 'JOE, OUR PLUMBER!' Boy, did he look at me weird with plastic wrap around my golden locks. NOT a pretty sight!!!
But then he didn't have a clue at was was coming either.....poor guy;)
Then about 30 minutes later as I was shampooing the tint out, which I had to do in the kitchen sink, because I couldn’t very well excuse myself, to go take a shower... My daughter and two grandchildren drop in and start laughing... (She is still laughing tonight! ) She said she thought, "What is the deal with this...why is my mom's head buried in the sink and this guy standing there watching her?"
My rear end was up in the air as I was squatting with my feet about four feet apart trying to bend at my hips, to use the hose sprayer above the sink to get all the dye out. Arrrrgggg... (I still can’t bend because of a back surgery I had last year fusing three vertebrae together after breaking my back...) I am quite awkward to say the least.
The poor plumber was standing at the snack bar with a bill in his hand trying not to laugh.
"Nannie, what you doin?" My sweet three year old grandson is asking me?
So with raccoon eyes and dripping hair, I kindly wrote the man a check and he quickly left laughing all the way to his truck. Oh, what a disastrous sight I was! LOL
Then this afternoon 'DAN' the Maytag MAN on the left, came to fix the dishwasher just when my hubby got home from work.
We are told it needs a new timer which of course is out of stock... for about 250.00!
Today got expensive real fast. We haven’t heard back from the insurance adjuster on the damage to the laundry room and the basement. I was told by their office, the garage door would be a 500.00 deductible & the truck was ALSO a 500.00 deductible because you can’t be liable to yourself, when you are the one who causes the damage or some silly thing like that. AND the damage inside the house was another 500.00 deductible... $1500.00 in deductibles!!! F0r a three day period. LOL
I do not want hear the word deductible again in the near future.
So, since it is Thanksgiving, I am grateful we have a HOME which could be damaged, for a TRUCK to drive my hubby to work, a garage to park the truck in, and for the APPLIANCES which make our lives so much better. I am trying to have an Attitude of Gratitude!
I am grateful I could LAUGH today and PRAY things will be better tomorrow:-)
Happy Thanksgiving♥♥♥

Beth, I thought I had a wild day till I read this. LOL! I don't think mine compares to yours. Glad you got some of it, at least, resolved. Here's hoping your Thanksgiving is a lot better.
That chair is very cute, and I know you're proud to have one that belonged to your grandmother. It's nice to be surrounded with things we love that remind us of those we love.
Thanks for sharing...
XO,
Sheila
Beth when it rains it pours at your house. Looks like you chose to have a good attitude of thanksgiving about it all...we can all get a lesson from this.
I love your chair! So glad it didn't get thrown away!
Thanks for being a part of Trash to Treasure on Tuesday!
WOMAN,YOU ARE A HOOT.BLESS YOUR HEART.I CAN'T HELP BUT FEEL SORRY FOR ALL YOUR TROUBLES AND LAUGH WITH-----YOU AT THE SAME TIME.AND BY THE WAY,IT'S ONLY THREE.HAHA.HAPPY THANKSGIVING...ANN
WOW! holy hannah beth . . . way to have a positive attitude, and thank you so much for sharing. I'm laughing and crying with you. I hope it all gets worked out post haste! you are wonderful and hilarious :)
The fact that you can still laugh about the last few days is a testament of what a brave and strong woman you are. Most of us would be curled in the corner crying like babies. I'm so sorry you've had such a rough go of it! But I admit to getting a really big chuckle about the plumber and your butt in the air and your head in the sink. Too dang funny! I hope the rest of this week goes smooth as silk and everything is wonderful. Thanks for teaching us to keep a good sense of humor about things like this. You're an inspiration!
Oh girl you are a true blogger taking photos of your disasters and your plumber!! I hope all your excitement is done for the year. Love the chair. A very Happy Thanksgiving to you...
Oh you are too funny Beth!!!LOL Isn't it alays the way things go, poor girl I wouldn't have wanted to answer the door!!:0) These kinds of things happen to me too!! I pray you and your family have a better and very Blessed Thanksgiving!!~Wendy
ROFAO yes 3s are still holding for me- a computer a lap top and a sewing machine were my latest victims.
That is hysterical! You couldn't hope to make something like that up! That is like something out of Tom Sharp's novels.
I hope Thanksgiving is calmer for you.
Oh man have I been there! Not quite like your hair dye/plumber story - but things happen in bunches. And that is horrible. I don't know why we can't space out the bad amongst the good? I hate that sound "mom, come here, we have a problem". It is when I want to hide or run because I know it is something up - bad. This morning when we turned on the dishwasher it was making a HORRIBle sound. I mean awful. I tried to pretend it wasn't happening. My regards for your misfortune! But yes, we all have so much to be grateful for, even amongst the ruins.
Holly,
LOL! That has happened before. There seems to be a couple aunties out in blogland that likes to give advice:-) Actually this was a blog started by my sisters and I and I am the only one using it.
So much for the auntieSSSSS...:-) I am glad you could get a chuckle out of my wonderful day.
Laughter is great medicine.
Ashley,
I am getting out of the breaking funk 'post haste'! LOL! The dishwasher part won't be here for 10-14 days! Do you feel you have enought action with your boutiques going on ...if not we have dishes!
Hopefully we will see you Saturday night:-)!
Can you believe it? The Bachelor of the decade is finally getting married.
Wow, Beth, I think I would have gone back to bed and put the covers over my head. I love that you laughed instead of cried. Ok we can learn from you in case we have a disaster. I hope I do not have to test myself. LOL.
Your chair is just lovely and I know a treasure from your grandmother. Things like that keeps her memory in your heart every time you use it.
Hugs...Jeanne
Beth, this post sure takes the cake! What a day--yikes!! It's just gotta get better! I love your chair, especially because it belinged to your grandmother--that really makes it a treasure. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
BETH, thank you for clarifying! I get confused sometimes! I am a blonde you know!! You really are hilarious though, and I completely understand about the east coast preisthood thing, and the U!
