Back to School in Style, with a little help from Lowes!

Summer is over and it was off to school for our niece, Miss P Mc Call last Monday. This is the first time she is required to wear uniforms to school. I was lucky to capture this moment before she left for school. Miss P Mc Call's wonderful new look for her first day of school was inspired by no other than this precious little one!
At church, Miss P Mc Call was told her brand new silver shoes would not be appropriate attire, according to the dress code, for the Charter School she would be attending for the first time.
My daughter had loved these hand me down shoes given to our little bumpkin from her big sister. They were certainly worn with lots of love! So our daughter decided it wouldn't hurt to experiment with black spray paint!

It turned out to be an awesome idea! Thanks Lowes!
The black spray paint worked fabulous to create new shoes for our little one.... and they still look like new after wearing them, often this summer!

So, Ta Daa! Spray paint again saved the day! New beautiful shiny BLACK school shoes for our darling Miss P Mc Call. She is a such JOY to have living in our home. :-)

Good Luck to Miss P Mc Call! She looked like a million dollars in her painted brand new shoes. She enjoyed a fabulous first week and is now running for school president!
Best part of the Charter School... she hasn't heard one swear word, the whole first week of school! For middle school, that is truly saying something!

Be sure and visit Diane's blog at, A Picture is Worth a 1000 Words for more Treasures which sport a whole new look or are being enjoyed again, by others!
Thanks Diane for hosting this event!

Hugs, Beth
PS
We have been extremely busy taking care of dad and traveling out of state to welcome a new grandson, who will be a week old tomorrow! More to come on both of these precious men who share a name... soon.

Cute!!

When I was in high school band, we were required to wear black shoes, with our uniforms. I remember one time, in particular, when I couldn't find the black shoe polish and used stove black to polish my shoes!! The stove black must really tell my age!:-)

Congratulations on your new grandson, Beth!

I've missed your posts but knew you were busy with Dad and am glad to hear there's another wonderful (little) man in your life.

The shoes look great! Good job! The other thing that I've found is that in the local stores with liquid shoe polish I've also found liquid black shoe dye. It works the same way but you put it on with the dabber instead of a spray nozzle. Now I know what to use in a pinch. It's so fun to share these life saving ideas! ;)~Nancy

What a sweetie she is! I've heard nothing but great schools from Charters here in AZ. I'm thinking if the public school doesn't start helping my 8 y.o. we'll put him in charter in January.

Hi, It was good to hear from you again. I have missed you! I bet your house is buzzing with activity with everyone there. How fun for you. Hope your dad is doing better and how great to add another grandchild to your family. By the way, I think you should join our service group. We have such a good time and really enjoy our days of service. I figure you live in the west valley area but we have one woman who comes from Morgan so think about it and let me know. It is only once a month for 2 hours. Have a great week going back to school via your grandchildren!

What a great idea to spray paint those cute shoes. I will have to use that idea on a pair of my daughters.

I have decided charter schools are great. I wish they had been around more but it is nice for parents to have that option now.

Wow, everyday I'm amazed at what you can do with spray paint. I saw a comment of yours on another blog and saw that you just welcomed a new baby to the family. Congratulations!!! Your niece looks adorable in her uniform, I almost wish our elementary school wore them. You mentioned a store called Material Girls where you bought your darling fabric, would you mind telling me where it is??? That fabric is adorable, I can't wait to see what you make with it.

Ooo those little shoes are so sweet. I still have a pair of boots from my 2 but the sole is sadly crumbling now. Like any mother though I wrap them safely so that one day they can show their own chldren.

Great spray paint idea. Miss P looks fab for her 1st day at school. We had the big labeling for Son before he returned having grown into new clothes. Daughter though is now at 6th form for A levels so no more uniform for her.
