Friendship isn't a big thing - it's a million little things

These past few months, we have had a good amount of stress in along with many joys which comes with life.
One of my LITTLE annoying stresses has been our garden!

We have been inundated with the BIGGEST and ugliest snails! The monsoon we had during June which is usually one of our driest months of the year, didn’t help. They have been multiplying with vengeance.

While out of town, they devoured practically all three of our zucchini plants and most of our annual flowers. This picture above is the only little 'stubbin' of Zucchini we had left growing!

We should be harvesting luscious tender zucchini!

I shared my woes with a sweet FRIEND.

I came home to find this gift on my porch. It filled my heart with laughter and joy!

Friendship isn’t about any big thing - it truly is all the million little things.

Then again as I was preparing to deliver and mail a couple more "Pay it Forward" gifts, my heart truly melted with love, for a sweet friend in blogland...

I had emailed 'Pancake' asking for her address. One of her PIF gifts was made with the knowledge, her family had just gone through a terrible tragedy. Their 14 year old INNOCENT nephew was shot and killed by another youth in Maryland.

One of her gifts was a tile with the words,

‘Be Still and Know I am God.’

Psalms 46:10

I also have this tile on my kitchen counter and it brings me much peace... when the world seems to awry.

In a return email I shared with her about our dear friends who had also lost their son in October to the same kind of violence. I sent a link to my earlier post about Michael. (Click on his name to know more)

Michael is their oldest child and a young man my husband and I adored... Pancake’s reply was:

"You know what... I would LOVE for you to take that 'PAY IT FORWARD' gift to your friend whose son was murdered. This would be the first 4th without their son. Go talk to her, the gift is a good reason to stop by. Beth, when you give her that hug as you leave... hold her extra long... a hug from me to her."

After reading this email, I couldn’t stop the tears.... She didn’t even know what her Pay it Forward gifts were and that this one would be perfect for me to take to my dear friend. Pancake, THANK YOU for truly 'Paying it Forward!

I am so grateful for all of you, who bless my life! I pray I can always be in tune to the spirit, to be able to bless the lives of others and know of those who might be in need of my care.
