Simple Woman's Day Book February, 2010

FOR TODAY, February 8th, 2010...
Outside My Window...
Is the promise of spring after a light winter. A huge THANK YOU to our friends and family on the East coast and in the South for swapping winters with us this year!
Our lawn is still matted from the melting snow, yet the birds are chirping and flying from tree to tree in search for little treasures. It is suppose to be unseasonably high this week with temps possibly  in the 50's! I am dreaming a beautiful spring full of promise and joy that the earth’s rebirth of beauty gives to us each year.
I am thinking...I hope I can fight this bronchitis and other respiratory infection and return to normal life... It has been 3 ½ weeks now.  I miss not being able to go to church to renew covenants, friendships and fill my spiritual cup.

I am thankful for... A patient and loving husband who blesses my life each and every day.

From the kitchen... Are freshly frosted heart shaped Valentine cookies and the promise of a turkey roast for dinner tonight for our Valentines dinner. We enjoyed a beautiful Valentine brunch,
with my Father in law. He was so excited we were able to come.
( I used precautions about getting too close to him.) Our daughter and grandson also went with us. We are so glad Dad has made another AMAZING turn around for good and is back home in his apartment at his retirement center.

I am wearing warm and comfy blue pajamas and warm socks. :)

I am creating/ actually quilting a baby quilt for our little grandson who should be arriving soon! His mommy took  pictures of herself with her self timer on her camera to celebrate this special time..
We are so excited for our youngest son and his lovely wife to start their family. She got her masters of nursing from Georgetown University in Midwifery, and has helped many women bring strong and healthy babies into the world. We are so thrilled it is finally her turn to experience this beautiful miracle and the blessing of motherhood.
She posted her pictures on her blog saying, “There are few things in this world I find more beautiful than a pregnant belly... I was recently inspired by a prenatal photography ad, and wanted to capture this special time of my life in an artistic way...  Pregnancy really has been joyful for me. I have helped so many other women through this stage of their lives, and now that it's my turn, I'm not taking any of it for granted." ( I had pemission to post these... I try to be a good MIL:-)  I also hope this isn't offensive to anyone. I feel the miracle of life is such a precious gift!)

I am going to Colorado when we hear this little guy decides to make his grand entrance! :)  I am praying my  cough will go away and I will be safe to be around our new little one... hopefully this week. She is due on Thursday!

I am reading lots of magazines and a book 'Lighten Up!' by Chieko N Okazaki, a former member of the first Presidency of the Relief Society in our church, which is the largest women's organization in the world. Her book is full of good cheer that only she can deliver with her beautiful smile and an a twinkle in her eye. Her  message of "Lighten Up" is lively, full of compassion, charity and love for the Savior.  She is so positive and invites us to take literally the words of Christ, "My burden is light."  As we take His yoke upon us, we learn to suspend judgement, to stop condeming ourselves, to free ourselves from guilt, prejudice, and unrealistic expectations.

I am hoping... as only a girl can hope...I will win this beautiful  chair from our dear friend, Ms Muse who is hosting a love giveaway. (Of course I would  love one of you, my friends to win it also. :-)
So please go visit her and you too will become hooked with her bright wit, talent of prose which comes from her heart and deep love for all that is good and decent in this world. Leave her a comment so you too can be entered to win this gorgeous and generous giveaway!

I am hearing... the music and excitment from the Olympics on TV.  We enjoy the ice skating and the couples are on right now. I DVR’ed it. I really love watching the Olympics and of course cheering on the USA!

Around the house...  I wish I could say all is normal, except any one can tell I haven’t been feeling well and our home  needs a good dusting and cleaning! Does any one want to volunteer? :-) HA! I didn't think so.
* Oh, but more importantly, there is L♥VE in the air. YES!
There are beautiful bouquets of flowers and tattle tale signs of love. Many of you know my sister and her daughters moved in with us (downstairs) several years ago. Well... L♥VE is BLOOMING!!!
I know certain SHINEY rings were looked at on Saturday evening, at a certain jewelry store who was waiting for their arrival! This followed a long romantic horse drawn carriage ride down town, with a certain handsome someone who adores her, and who also had eyes for her 30 years ago, when they were in high school! ♥♥♥

One of my favorite things...
Is cuddling up and watching a good Romantic Comedy with Mr B. What is even better, he enjoys it too!

A few plans for the rest of the week are...
If I feel better, there is a Utah Blogger’s luncheon in Farmington, I would love to attend!!! If you would like information about this lunch please click here. And of course getting that  IMPORTANT call from Colorado!

Here is picture I thought I would share...
Our littlest princess celebrated her 2nd birthday last month.
And this is my Simple Woman's Day Book for this week. I haven’t linked up with the Simple Women’s Day book for a long time, but will today. Please go see what other women are thinking and doing!   Better yet, please join us  in the journey of keeping a journal and post your own  Simple Woman's Day Book.

Enjoy a Beautiful Week!
~♥~

Beth~~~

I am so sorry that you are still battling this bronchitis. I hope you have been seeing your doctor. I had a cold that seemed to go on forever. As much as you want to slow down, some things have to be done.

I can feel your excitement for the birth of your grandson. I love the picture of your DIL and her blooming belly!! How exciting it must be for her, too. There is nothing like the feeling of a little baby growing inside of you!

Well I hope you get better and you get out to enjoy your beautiful weather. We are stuck in the 20's with more snow predicted again today. It is SO gloomy out. Le sigh...

xoxo

I love the Simple Woman's Day Book, but I don't know how to get it?! Maybe I'm just snoopy, but I love knowing what others are thinking and feeling - maybe it makes me feel more normal ;O)

I love the pregnant belly pics. What a wonderful blessing in your life, congratulations grandma! I spent the day with my youngest daughter today, because she had a miscarriage over the week-end, But . . . I'm very excited for you and your new blessing. They will keep trying - she is a strong girl and her faith keeps her going.

I so enjoy reading anything by, Chieko N Okazaki, she is so uplifting and makes you feel like you can make it!

Good luck on winning the chair, it's a beauty!

Blessings, Barb

I loved seeing the beautiful flowers and the thought of warmer weather. 50's would be like heaven! And I was standing in my living room and cheering for Evan last night. C, I am so sorry you are not feeling well still. You have had quite a hard time this last year. Those coughs that go on forever are so draining on one. Take good care of yourself so you'll be able to welcome your newest little one soon. That will be so fun for you to look forward to. Keep those warm weather thoughts too as I am sure they will help with your recovery. xoxoxo

Beth, I so enjoyed catching up with what's been going on in your life.

Your "little princess" is adorable, and it was so good to hear that your father-in-law is doing so well and see him looking so happy. I know that's a huge relief and comfort to you and your husband.

I hope this finds you feeling much better and on your way to welcome your precious little grandson into the world. He is already blessed to have a sweet family like yours to grow up in.

Take care of yourself, my friend. I'll be thinking about you.
